The history of light therapy dates back more than 3000 years in India, where sunlight was used for therapeutic purposes and recorded in the sacred Hindu texts. However, the sunlight that reaches us is made up of two types of harmful rays: long wave ultraviolet A (UVA) and short wave ultraviolet B (UVB). Basically, UVA rays can age us and UVB rays can burn us. Overexposure to either can damage the skin.
On the other end of the spectrum, phototherapy treatment uses a special machine to emit UVB light at 311-312 nm, which is the most beneficial portion of natural sunlight for skin diseases. Ardmore’s Phototherapy, using medical grade LED red or blue light, is a unique non-invasive, no downtime and safe treatment to address several skin issues such as acne, dull or even aging skin.
Experience & *Results
The medical grade LED Blue phototherapy is known for its antibacterial effects. It has a unique 415nm wavelength that creates a highly toxic environment for the P acne bacteria to effectively clear the skin of blemishes. Upon reaching the sebaceous glands in the skin, blue light successfully excites porphyrins, which are compounds produced by bacteria that cause acne. When they are activated by light, porphyrins can destroy the bacteria from the inside out. LED Blue phototherapy can also successfully shrink sebaceous glands.
The medical grade LED Red phototherapy increases collagen production and improves skin healing, while also decreasing the rate of breakdown of existing collagen.
Protect and maintain your skin against daily degeneration with our most coveted Ardmore’s Phototherapy for rejuvenated and clear skin.
